During the summer there is always something to do in Villa Grande.  Its proximity to the Russian River provides residents and visitors with plenty of opportunity to enjoy water sports including boating, kayaking, and fishing in addition to swimming at Patterson Beach.  The Northwood Golf Course in Monte Rio is just minutes away, and the Sonoma Coast State Beach is 7 miles to the west.  The pace of life in Villa Grande slows down a bit in the winter, offering residents the opportunity to beat the summertime crowds and enjoy the quaint shops of nearby Duncans Mills or visit local wineries.

Many of the homes in Villa Grande date back to the early 1900s and are simple cabins and bungalows built for summertime use.  Redwood forests and narrow roads give the homes in Villa Grande a rustic feel.

Villa Grande Homes for Sale

Originally called Mesa Grande, the small, unincorporated community of Villa Grande sits just a few short miles from Sonoma Coast State Park, which of course is one of the most visited outdoor attractions in all of Wine Country and features some pretty awesome beaches, hiking trails, picnic areas, and camping sites. As for what you’ll find here within the Villa Grande boundaries, however, most of the area consists of cabins, weekend/vacation rentals, and quiet country homes that are perfect for anybody who puts a premium on privacy and peace and quiet. Some of the most sought-after homes in Villa Grande lie along the Russian River, but with this also being one of Somona County’s smaller communities, housing inventory is often pretty limited.

Villa Grande Real Estate

If you’re lucky enough to find a few desirable options of the Villa Grande real estate market, you’re already one step ahead. As mentioned above, housing inventory is usually pretty limited in this particular part of Wine Country, but even still, home prices still hover around $800,000 to just over $1 million, which of course is pretty common for the Bay Area overall. In fact, recent housing statistics have Villa Grande’s median home value right around $855,000, and that’s not likely to fluctuate a whole lot given most single-family houses in the area are all relatively similar.
