Stinson Beach Modern Real Estate Market

There are homes in Stinson Beach that are actually built right on the sand. Some are of post and beam construction and many have atriums or courtyards, and open floor plans. Designed in the mid-century, these homes are perfect for entertaining and living a casual lifestyle. Not all of the architects planning these homes are well known, but this doesn't diminish the ingenuity of design or the desirability of these properties.

Not all homes in Stinson Beach were planned by obscure architects, however. The work of Cass Calder Smith Architecture can be found there, as well as a home by PFAU Architecture, and JSWD Architects. JSWD who has designed quite a few projects in Marin County - including the Spirit Rock Meditation Center, created an innovative oceanside house, that is built on multiple levels, while keeping to the spirit of its predominately one-story community.

Another notable contemporary beach home was designed by Turnbull Griffin Haesloop Architects. Inspired by a William Wurster home that had burned down on this site, the new home captures the essence of the original home while conforming to current building codes and regulations. The result is a spectacular, sleekly designed home that provides sheltered outdoor spaces and maximizes the ocean views.

With the variety in building design available in Stinson Beach, you can find something to use as a weekend get-away, or you can join the close knit community of year round residents. Whether you are looking for a home on the beach or a house in the hills, Stinson Beach might be your place in the sun - at least when that famous coastal fog isn't hanging around.
