Sausalito Real Estate Market

The variety of Sausalito home listings offers something for every luxury or semi-luxury buyer, and Sausalito's modern home selection is exceptional. Whether you're looking for a hillside home overlooking San Francisco Bay, or a secluded forested property at the edge of Golden Gate National Recreation area, Sausalito real estate is a must-see. The city also includes a variety of attractive high-end condo developments that are popular with San Francisco commuters. Many properties throughout Sausalito are dotted with willow trees, which often mark small freshwater springs. One apartment complex here is called "Whisky Springs," after a local Mason Distillery, which used spring water to make medicinal alcohol.

The Sausalito real estate market has everything you could want as a home buyer, from condos and townhouses to single-family homes of all shapes and sizes. As alluded to above, hillside homes with sweeping views of the bay, the bridge, and the San Francisco skyline are among the most highly sought-after properties listed on the market, but lucky for you, there's usually plenty of different options and opportunities available that offer these kinds of premium, jaw-dropping views. Mid-century modern and luxury cottage-style homes have become extremely popular in Sausalito over the years, but larger newer construction residences priced in the $4 to $8 million range are also a prominent part of the local Sausalito housing market too.

Sausalito Community Amenities

Sausalito is the Bay Area's homage to Mediterranean living, beautifully situated on the ocean across from San Francisco. With its downtown centered on the waterfront at the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge, this small Marin County city offers all the excitement and charm of a waterfront community, without the crowds of San Francisco, and a significantly warmer climate. It's well-known around here that the temperature often rises by ten degrees or more on the northern side of the Golden Gate. Many people arrive in Sausalito on the Fisherman's Wharf ferry from San Francisco, and spend the day browsing fine art galleries, boutiques and restaurants along Bridgeway Street.
