San Lorenzo Real Estate Market

Homes in San Lorenzo, including those in San Lorenzo Village and Lorenzo Manor, are mostly mid-century ranch style tract homes with two or three bedrooms. Homes that are more contemporary can be found in newer developments including Ravenwood Townhomes and Cottage Square.

The 1940s brought rapid growth to the East Bay, and housing was in great demand throughout the area. San Lorenzo was virtually built out by the late 1950s and homes there, particularly in San Lorenzo Village, are typical examples of the mid-century tract housing style; they are small, modest, and conventional in design and material. The area is, however, a significant example of the East Bay Area’s mid-century suburban growth.

The San Lorenzo housing market is much like what potentioal buyers will find in other Alameda County communities, offering potential buyers a nice mix of single-family dwellings and townhouse residences that are moderately priced, at least for the Bay Area. Recent real estate statistics registered the median sales price for homes in San Lorenzo to be $535,000, which was low enough to make it one of the area’s more affordable communities for anybody looking for a new place in the East Bay. A few small condo developments also help fill out the San Lorenzo real estate market, although detached single-family homes really make up the bulk of the city’s housing landscape.

San Lorenzo Communuity Amenities

San Lorenzo California is an unincorporated suburban community in Alameda County. Located between San Leandro and Hayward, San Lorenzo is perfectly situated for commuting to other East Bay locations via I-880, which intersects San Lorenzo. Access to the Peninsula is also convenient, as the San Mateo Bridge crosses the San Francisco Bay only a few miles south of San Lorenzo.

The San Lorenzo community encompasses a pretty small area overall, so not many amenities and attractions are found within the city limits here. The Skywest Golf Course does occupy much of the southern border, however, and as mentioned above, the Hayward Executive Airport is also just a short drive down I-880 from most houses for sale in San Lorenzo. Other community amenities nearby include the Greenhouse Marketplace shopping center, the Tony Lema Golf Course, and the Monarch Golf Club.
