San Geronimo Real Estate Market

Homes for sale in the San Geronimo Valley range from small fixers to large estates on acreage, and just about everything in between. Although property prices have been on the increase over recent years, affordable properties are still available. Property in the San Geronimo Valley has a definite pastoral flavor. The Valley is one of the few areas in Marin County where undeveloped property is still available. If peace and quiet with easy access to urban convenience is what you have in mind when looking for a new home, the San Geronimo Valley is well worth considering.

With San Geronimo being almost entirely rural, country homes, farms, cabins, and sprawling parcels of land make up most of the local real estate market. In addition, most homes for sale in San Geronimo also sit up in the hills, providing home owners with plenty of privacy and even some pretty outstanding views in some cases as well. Like most of Marin County, look for houses and cabins tucked away in the San Geronimo area to start somewhere close to $1 million and go up from there.

San Geronimo Community Amenities

The San Geronimo Valley extends along Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, linking central Marin County to West Marin. As you head west through the valley, the surroundings take on a rural feeling. Rolling hills and open meadows give way to forested land, and along the way buyers who tour the area will find the small towns of Woodacre, San Geronimo, Forest Knolls and Lagunitas. Once home to hippies and musicians, the San Geronimo Valley has gained sophistication, but still retains the reputation of being home to some of the more liberal citizenry of Marin County.

With Roy's Redwoods and the Gary Giacomini Open Space Preserve being just minutes away from most locations in the San Geronimo Valley, you can enjoy some of Marin's most breathtaking scenery while hiking or biking without the weekend crowds found at some of Marin's better-known locations. The valley also has the beautifully maintained 18-hole San Geronimo Golf Course and two equestrian centers, including the Dickson Ranch Riding School and Stables.
