Pine Lake Park Real Estate

With fewer than 270 homes, Pine Lake Park is a small, quiet neighborhood in the heart of San Francisco’s Lake Merced District (District 3). Located just north of Sloat Boulevard, the residential portion of Pine Lake Park is bordered to the north and east by its namesake Pine Lake Park and Stern Grove. Parkside Realty Company began development of homes in Pine Lake Park in the late 1920s, and the Standard Building Company, creators of the “Sunstream Homes” which are featured so prominently in the Sunset District, completed construction of the Pine Lake Park subdivision mid-20th century.

While Pine Lake Park is a residential neighborhood, residents find that the amenities necessary for everyday life are not far from home. The main commercial district is just a few blocks away in the Stonestown Galleria, and recreation is literally in the neighborhood with the trails and green spaces found in Stern Grove and Pine Lake Park. For summer entertainment, nothing beats a leisurely stroll to Stern Grove to enjoy the free concerts celebrated throughout the summer.

Homes in Pine Lake Park sit on moderately sized lots with nicely manicured lawns. Many homes along Crestlake Drive back onto the park or Stern Grove. Housing in Pine Lake Park is primarily detached, single-family residences ranging from classically styled homes in the eastern section to ranch-style and the “living-quarters-over-garage” rowhouses typical of the Sunset District in the western portion of the neighborhood. Underground utilities eliminate the tangle of wire found in so many San Francisco neighborhoods, offering a clean looking, uncluttered environment.
