Penngrove Real Estate

Penngrove is a small Sonoma County community full of old fashioned charm and rural tranquility.  The surprising thing is that Penngrove is just a few miles from the busy cities of Petaluma and Rohnert Park; but somehow the hectic lifestyle found in urban areas has bypassed Penngrove.

Penngrove is a family friendly town with a full calendar of events, including crab feeds, luaus, and Pedro or Poker nights full of fun and food.  The highlight of the year is the Penngrove Parade and BBQ in the Park, which is traditionally on the first Sunday of July each year.  Many of the social activities in Penngrove revolve around the Penngrove School, which was presented with the California Distinguished School award in 2012.  The community supports the school with a Back to School BBQ each year, an annual Halloween Carnival, talent shows, and skate nights.

Homes in Penngrove are in a pastoral setting, surrounded by agricultural land.  A few of the homes in Penngrove are on ranchlands outside of town and come complete with acreage and farm outbuildings.  Others are historic homes and cottages in town, contemporary residences in newer housing clusters, or custom built homes on small parcels.

Penngrove Homes for Sale

As a central Sonoma County town that sits just east of Highway 101, Penngrove is best described as a quiet, laid back town that almost feels sleepy at times. Unlike nearly every other city and town in Wine Country, Penngrove doesn't have a single wine bar, wine shop, or wine tasting room in town, making it somewhat unique for this particular part of Northern California. But just because Penngrove isn’t defined by the thriving NoCal wine making industry, that doesn’t mean these isn't plenty to see and do once moving to the area. Although small, Penngrove’s downtown actually has a pretty nice mix of local shops, coffee houses, restaurants, and bars, and if you’re somebody who doesn’t necessarily want to live amongst the constant flow of tourists coming and going, Penngrove may just be the perfect place to call home while still living right in the heart of Wine Country USA.

Penngrove Real Estate

While Penngrove may not have the variety of housing other larger communities nearby offer home buyers, it’s distinct rural ambiance and quiet country vibe helps make homes for sale here a desirable option for anybody to consider. Traditional single-family homes with up to a couple acres of land usually fall somewhere between $900,000 and $1.5 million, while many older farmhouses in town that could use a little updating here and there are often well below $800,000. Land opportunities also present home buyers wanting to build their dream home from the ground up some various options as well with some smaller parcels throughout the Penngrove area often priced below $200,000.
