Temescal Homes & Real Estate

Search the newest Temescal homes for sale and real estate in Oakland below! Known for being one of the oldest neighborhoods in Oakland, Temescal is situated on the city’s north side and centered on Telegraph Avenue—a vibrant strip that features countless restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, ice cream parlors, and small boutique shops. The community’s unique name is derived from Temescal Creek, which is one of Oakland’s primary watercourses. While Temescal’s boundaries have significantly changed over time, many of today’s locals recognize its borders as being M.L.K. Jr. Way to the west, 51st Street to the north, Broadway to the east, and 40th Street to the south. Temescal Real Estate Market

Outside of Telegraph Ave, Temescal is primarily a residential neighborhood full of early 20th century bungalows and craftsman-style houses. Apartments and condos also have a significant presence throughout the Temescal neighborhood, but single-family homes truly make up the bulk of the area’s housing landscaping. Over the last decade or so, buyers have really started recognizing the neighborhood’s potential, and now, many of Temescal’s oldest homes have been renovated and remodeled to include plenty of desirable finishes that rarely leave new home owners in the neighborhood wanting more. But as a result, home prices and home values throughout Temescal have also jumped up in recent years, so look for most listings to be somewhere between $800,000 and $1.5 million.

Temescal School Information

Along with everything you’ll find along Telegraph Avenue, several local schools are also part of the Temescal neighborhood, including Oakland International High School, Oakland Technical High School, and Emerson Elementary School.
