North Marin Homes For Sale

Find the newest North Marin homes for sale as well as more real estate in Marin County below. While the South, Central, and West regions of Marin County consist of several cities each, North Marin has but one — Novato. Located on Highway 101, just about 30 miles from San Francisco, Novato is Marin's northernmost city, and perhaps its most conventional. Suburban style shopping malls and single-family tract homes characterize this busy city, but once buyers scratch the surface they'll find so much more. North Marin Real Estate Market

Real Estate in northern Marin tends to be more affordable than in the rest of the county, although Novato does have its share of luxury properties as well. A variety of neighborhoods in North Marin, ranging from moderately priced condominiums and older ranch style homes to multi-million dollar estates in gated communities presents the homebuyer with many options and the opportunity to find the perfect home at a reasonable (by Marin standards) price.

North Marin Community Amenities

With several golf courses, twenty-seven parks, seven open space preserves, and sunnier weather that the rest of Marin typically has, northern Marin County is at the center of outdoor recreational activity. Horseback riding, hiking, and biking on trails in the surrounding hills are popular pastimes; and boating and fishing enthusiasts enjoy Novato's Stafford Lake and easy access to San Pablo Bay.

North Marin is an industrial powerhouse. Novato has long been headquarters for a number of national and international businesses, including Birkenstock USA, Smith and Hawken, and Fireman's Fund Insurance. The recent completion of Hamilton Landing, an eco-friendly business complex housed in converted airplane hangers, has attracted a host of high-tech and biotech companies, perhaps most notably Image Movers Digital and Walt Disney Studios. The esteemed Buck Institute is also located in Novato.
