Inverness, CA is a uniquely located, unincorporated community that’s pushed right up against Point Reyes National Seashore, which of course is the sprawling, 71,000 acre park along Drakes Bay that features some of the region’s most spectacular hiking trails, public beaches, and panoramic views of the water. For the true outdoor enthusiast who loves getting outside and staying active, there’s arguably no better place to live in Marin County than the small and almost isolated community of Inverness, which says a lot given Marin County’s gorgeous natural landscape that encompasses such a broad area. Immediately north of Inverness is another unincorporated community in Seahaven, while a short drive south along Sir Francis Drake Boulevard will bring you to Point Reyes Station—another small Marin County town with a similar vibe and laid-back lifestyle in general. As you might expect, community amenities in Inverness are limited, although there is a local elementary school located here, as well as several quaint bed and breakfast inns and cottages, a small market, a post office, and even a couple good restaurants too.
