Larkspur Homes & Real Estate

Welcome to your best Larkspur real estate resource as well as all homes on the market in Marin County. Larkspur is a lovely Marin County town that has a quintessential suburban feel that's hard to overlook if buyers are searching for a pleasant new place to call home. The town itself is unique in that it's essentially divided into two separate parts, which are each naturally divided by Corte Madera Creek on the northern end of town. Larkspur also features one of the most charming and walkable downtowns buyers will find in all of Marin County, and buyers will quickly find it's full of quaint little shops, restaurants, eateries, and of course its fair share wine bars as well. A great school system also helps anchor the community's high-level of appeal, and its location just off Highway 101 makes it a convenient place to live for any frequent commuter who works in San Francisco or any other nearby city in Marin County. Larkspur Real Estate Market

Diverse architecture and a variety of locations provide many options when choosing a house in Larkspur. Once considered a mid-price range locale, homes in Larkspur are becoming pricier, but considering the character of the community and beautiful surroundings they are well worth taking a look at. Just about every architectural style is represented in Larkspur and Larkspur Landing. From tract homes, to Queen Anne Victorians, to stylish modern waterfront homes, each neighborhood has a distinct character that reflects its natural setting. Some homes are nestled into redwood groves, others can be found high on a hill with views of the bay and Mount Tamalpais. Larkspur is becoming one of the hottest markets in Marin.

It's estimated that over 12,000 people live in Larkspur, but you probably wouldn't guess it after seeing the limited number of homes that hit the open market here. Many residential streets close to downtown Larkspur feature amazing bungalow, cottage, and Craftsman-style houses, while further outside of town is where you might find more ranch or farmhouse style properties that boasts a rather distinct country vibe. Entry-level cottages for sale in Larkspur can sometimes be found for under $1 million, but it's not all that common. Overall, most houses for sale in Larkspur tend to start close to $1.5 million and sometimes reach as much of $4 or $5 million, which usually means home buyers will be purchasing a home that truly has all the bells and whistles.

Larkspur Community Amenities

Located on the west side of Highway 101, historic downtown Larkspur is the heart of the community. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Larkspur is a tranquil, pedestrian-oriented town full of stylish shops, world-class restaurants, small cafes, and an art deco single-screen movie theater. Old Larkspur even has a tavern, characterized affectionately by locals as a dive, that is said to be home to the Corte Madera-Larkspur Book Club - although it is reputed that a book has never been discussed at any of the meetings!

To the east of Highway 101 is Larkspur Landing. Fronting the San Francisco Bay, Larkspur Landing is home to The Golden Gate Ferry Terminal, and boasts a popular outdoor shopping area with tables, a fountain, dramatic bay views, and live music on Friday nights. In the summertime Saturday mornings will find a Farmers' Market in full swing at Larkspur Landing.
