Once a sleepy Alameda County town that was little more than an afterthought at one time, the city of Dublin’s population has been steadily trending upward since the early 1980s, ballooning from 14,350 in 1982 to right around 54,000 as recently as 2016. For locals and anybody familiar with Dublin’s strong development potential, it shouldn’t be of much surprise that city officials are planning for population numbers to keep on growing, eventually reaching close to 80,000 people once the area is fully built-out. Its strong and continuous growth over the years has also earned Dublin the reputation of being California’s second fastest-growing city in the state, trailing only Santa Clarita in the regard.

Dublin’s rapid expansion certainly provides potential home buyers with plenty of options and opportunities with a high value, especially given the city’s close proximity to San Francisco (35 miles away), Downtown Oakland (23 miles away), and San Jose (31 miles away). But as housing demand increases, home prices in Dublin have also been on the rise in recent years as well. From 2016 to 2017, the median home value in Dublin jumped 5% and recent Dublin CA real estate stats have the city’s median home value just over $804,000.
Homes, condos, and townhouses haven’t been the only new additions to Dublin in recent years, as plenty of high-end luxury shopping brands have also found their way to the Dublin area as retail complexes and commercial projects have also helped fill out the local landscape. The Fallon Sports Park complex was also just recently built back in 2010, and the city also has three city-maintained dog parks for locals to use as well—Dougherty Hills Dog Park, Bray Commons Dog Park, and Jordan Ranch Dog Park.
