Byron Homes & Real Estate

Welcome to your best Byron real estate resource as well as all homes on the market in Contra Costa County. Byron is an unassuming, census-designated place located along Byron Highway just south of the Discovery Bay Country Club. A small community with a population of only around 1,300 people, you won’t find much around what’s considered the downtown area outside of a post office, a small tavern, and a few local churches; but for anybody who already lives here, it’s also the quiet, country atmosphere that surrounds this rural part of East Bay that continues to be the most appealing part about calling Byron home, so most don't seem to mind the overall lack of hustle-and-bustle. But if buyers are worried about having at least some amenities and everyday necessities nearby like a grocery store or gas station for example, Brentwood is also only a few short minutes away, providing Byron residents with everything they need to feel right at home. Byron Real Estate Market

Real estate in Byron offers an attractive and affordable option to homeowners working in the central valley as well as to Bay Area commuters. Whether you are looking for an unpretentious single-family home, an equestrian property, or a working ranch, Byron offers reasonably priced, conveniently located homes that are close to amenities and recreational opportunities. Many homes in Byron are on acreage and surrounded by farmland, which affords the homeowner a haven from the hectic lifestyle of nearby cities. Properties in Byron tend to be modestly priced single-family homes and undeveloped land, although the occasional luxury home with high-end finishes comes on the market every once in a while.

Byron was once little more than an agricultural community with only a few farms and farmhouses that basically occupied the entire landscape. Since then, more homes have been built, but you’ll still see quite a few houses here with plenty of open space, or even a number of active farms that are still in operation even today. With a number of rivers and waterways all flowing nearby, anyone into fishing, boating, or anything to do with the water love what homes for sale in Byron bring to the table, especially considering the area’s affordability. Some of Byron’s most expensive homes for sale sometimes exceed $1 million, but potential buyers will mostly only see that high of a price tag when it comes to something that was just recently built. Smaller houses or homes that have a little charm, character, and age usually start somewhere near the mid $600,000s and top out just under $800,000.

Byron Community Amenities

Byron California is a small Delta community in Contra Costa County. Just a few miles southeast of Brentwood, Byron is well located for commuting westward toward Concord, Pleasanton, or Dublin; as well as east or southeast to valley locations, including Stockton, Tracy and Manteca.

Once an agricultural community, Byron retains a quiet rural character. Despite its pastoral setting, however, there is plenty to do for Byron residents. Golf courses are just a few minutes away in both Discovery Bay and Brentwood, and the waterways of the Delta offer year round boating and fishing opportunities to the watersport enthusiast. The nearby Los Vaqueros Reservoir provides hiking trails and waters for fishing and boating.
