Brentwood Real Estate Market
Brentwood CA is a new housing market, carved out of old farms, orchards, and ranchlands. Most of the subdivisions in Brentwood were built after 1990; as a result, many homes in Brentwood are modern homes with contemporary style. Popular neighborhoods in Brentwood include exclusive Shadow Lakes, with its golf course and properties with incredible views of Mt. Diablo; family-friendly and affordable California Orchard; and the upscale new community of Trilogy at the Vineyards.
Brentwood homes for sale are about what you would expect from a Contra Costa County community, offering a pleasant mix of traditional one and two-story single-family residences that usually start somewhere close to $600,000 and go up from there. Thanks to Brentwood’s mountainous terrain, some homes up in the hills feature absolutely breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, but expect to pay a premium for anything that boasts such sweeping and mesmerizing outlooks. With Brentwood being situated just off Highway 4, it’s also one of the more convenient places to live in Contra Costa County, further boosting its appeal and desirability for anyone looking to move to this part of the Bay Area. Some of Brentwood’s most expensive homes will sometimes jump up into the $3 to $5 million price range, but most tend to list for just over $1 million.
Brentwood Community Amenities
Brentwood California is a thriving Bay Area community in Contra Costa County. Just south of Antioch and Oakley, Brentwood is somewhat off the beaten path, but still close to the conveniences of daily life; Livermore is just twenty-five miles south, Concord is twenty-five miles northwest, and there is a big-box shopping center located on the Brentwood/Antioch city boundary.
Brentwood is a lively city with a wide range of things to do. Each year Brentwood celebrates its agrarian roots with the annual CornFest. This July festival is a three-day party full of fun, food, and entertainment. Other events in Brentwood include a yearly golf tournament, the ever-popular Taste of Brentwood restaurant tour, and the Starry Nights Summer Concerts. Miles of hiking/biking trails, parks, and the nearby waters of the Delta assure that there are activities for people of all ages and interests.
Brentwood began as a farming community. Although many of the original orchards and farms have been replaced by suburban housing developments, agriculture is still important to the local economy. Throughout the growing season, Brentwood residents and visitors alike can have fun picking fruit at local farms or stop by roadside stands to buy fresh vegetables, nuts, and fruits.
