Saw this totally amazing live/work loft for sale in Emeryville.  The live/work lofts at 4300 Horton are the real thing, not a new building designed to look old. And it's totally amazing. The entire building has been updated but still remains true to its original style, from the bulding's exterior to the hand rail detail. The Unit for sale has brick and exposed timber, yet is light filled and spacious. One of the best parts is that an old gear and pulley has been repurposed into a dumbwaiter.
