The Sausalito Art Festival Labor Day Weekend Sept. 3-5, 2011

art_fest_500_136The 59th Annual Sausalito Art Festival is happening Labor Day Weekend Sept. 3rd-5th

Being a resident of Sausalito, I can honestly say that this is one of the many reasons I love living here!

Our town has a history of being known as a hip artist's enclave and undeniable proof of this happens every year during Labor Day weekend. The Sausalito Art Festival is famous for showcasing contemporary artists who work with every type of medium: photography, jewelry, sculpture, fabric, metal, wood, glass, and pretty much everything else you could think of.  The vast array of talent & creativity is breathtaking. Be prepared to be amazed by the original works of art on display by over 275 artists.  This festival is known world-wide and artist participation is by invitation only.

This event brings thousands of visitors to our beautiful Sausalito area to celebrate the Labor Day festivities.  In addition to the fabulous art, attendees enjoy an impressive live entertainment line-up that spans three days and this year includes Men Without Hats, The Romantics, The Human League, all performing on Saturday (FUN!); & then on Sunday & Monday you can enjoy Edgar Winter, Wonderbread5, Kenny Loggins, & the Golden Gate Opera, just to name a few.

Local residents embrace the yeary deluge (and ensuing traffic nightmare) by lending a hand. If you can't beat 'em, then join 'em! Volunteering at the festival is almost a "must" if you live here; it seems like every fellow resident & neighbor that I meet has already signed up for a committee and knows which shift they are working. So this year I am pleased to be volunteering on Sunday 9/4 for the afternoon shift at "Champagne #1" where I'll be pouring bubbly alongside a few of my new friends & recent clients.... If you are reading this and attend the festival on Sunday, come look for me, I'll be wearing my Marin Modern name tag & I'll buy you a champagne!!

One-day or weekend passes are available. Click on the links below for more information. Come & have a great time with us!

And, of course, if you would like any real estate assistance in the Sausalito, Mill Valley, or Tiburon/Belvedere neighborhoods, please feel free to contact me.  As always, thanks for reading!
