Sunday Open Houses Marin, where to get a bite while out there!

It is Open House Season!  

I have to say I do still enjoy getting an open house list and heading out to discover new neighborhoods and look at beautiful homes. When I was looking for a home I often would get to the point where one or all of my family members were STARVING and we were scrambling to find a place ASAP to get water, food, candy whatever we needed!   I thought I would share a few quick and good ones throughout Marin that could nourish you while you are out there to keep the energy levels up.

Southern Marin (Sausalito, Mill Valley, Tiburon, Corte Madera)

Sausalito:  Cibo-great local food, sandwiches salads and lots of grab and go option

Mill Valley:  Miller Ave has many options-there is a drive thru burger place Super Duper (great milkshakes) if you are downtown the Mill Valley Market has a great deli with a really good hot bar and soup bar-also lots of grab and go options there.

Tiburon:  In the Cove shopping area off of Tiburon Blvd there is a staple for me FoodNiks-amazing salads sandwiches and you can even grab something for dinner that night in case you spend too much time out and about.

Corte Madera:  Paradise foods on Paradise Dr. has yet another wonderful deli, yummy pre - made salads and if you so desire (or if your kids desire) a great bakery

Central Marin (Larkspur, Kentfield,San Rafael)

Larkspur:  Rustic Bakery either on Magnolia or in the Marin Country Mart.  Fantastic sandwiches, salads and of course some treats too

Kentfield:  Woodlands Market:  A wonderful deli, hot food, incredible sushi, soups and a lot of pre-made grab and go goodness! 

San Rafael:  There is the Mothership of Whole Foods on 3rd street on the east side of the freeway that has all that your heart's desire

West Marin: Ross, San Anselmo, Fairfax 

Ross:  On the corner of the town center of Ross is the Ross Market.  A wonderful old fashioned market with wonderful deli sandwiches

San Anselmo: Comforts!  The Chinese Chicken Salad is infamous and they have it grab and go style.  Also the deli case is filled with wonderful items and then you can always order sandwiches, soups and salads, all delicious!

Fairfax:  The Good Earth grocery store, we are so lucky to have so many independent grocery stores in Marin with high end delis.  The Good Earth is a beautiful large and clean health food store.  It is also somewhat the center of the universe for the Far West Marin communities.

 Hopefully now you will all have a full belly while you are out looking for you new home!
