Oakland Restaurant Week is a great opportunity to try the best of the new wave of fantastic restaurants now open in our great city of Oakland.Soon to be recognized as the best culinary destination in California, you really need to get out there and try some of the 75 restaurants offering prix fixe lunch and dinner menus for 10 days this month.This, the 6th Anniversary, promises to be even better yet!
Buyers aren’t the only ones who have discovered cheaper prices for property in the East Bay, but so have some of the best Chefs in the Bay Area.We are so blessed to have so many already!!And as our population of foodies increases, so will the demand for the best!!
Have fun trying all the great restaurants during restaurant week, but I have to give a shout out to one of my favorites who is not on the Oakland Restaurant Week list (and probably never will be) Lena’s Soul Food Cafe in the High St. neighborhood of Oakland.This is the best restaurant for fried chicken, greens and corn bread I have ever been too…they also do a mighty powerful ribs and jambalaya.Open 11-8pm, it’s mostly for takeout with just a few tables…and there is usually a line out the door. But it is worth every effort to get this wonderful authentic Southern soul food!!
