Marin Home Buyers: Mortgage Rates Improving

Yesterday the Treasury successfully auctioned off $27 Billion in 7 year notes with bids being much higher then expected. As a result, the benchmark 10 year treasury note closed at a much lower 3.50%. This means that mortgage rates also moved lower (improved) today and will likely improve again early next week.

If you have been sitting on the fence, and were disappointed in missing the very low rates that existed 4-8 weeks ago, this may be your opportunity.    Whether you are interested in refinancing or buying a new Marin home or condo in Marin, now might be a good time to explore your options especially since home prices are down and inventory is starting to rise in Marin County.

Good news: Your Marin property taxes might be going down

Finally, there is some good news for folks who bought Marin real estate in the last five or six years. You could see your property taxes go down without having to do a thing, depending upon where they live.

Just in case, it's a good idea to check your assessed value and compare it to comps in your area. July 1 marks the beginning of the appeal period for formal assessment review for fiscal year 2009-10 by the county Assessment Appeals Board. The filing period runs through Nov. 30....

Just Sold! 847 Pine Ln, San Rafael

I'm happy to announce that my Eichler listing at 847 Pine Ln in San Rafael just sold today.   This home was a mid-century Eichler "fixer" in San Rafael with fabulous upgrade potential.

I worked closely with the sellers to prepare the home for sale and we were able to generate a significant amount of interest in the home before it even hit the Marin county  mls.
