10 Diverse Marin Hiking and Biking Trails
Hiking and biking in Marin is one the best ways to experience our amazing open spaces, panoramic views and unique neighborhoods. With Spring just around the corner, it is time to get out and discover the over 100 trails along the coastal hills, parklands and through Marin's picturespue towns.
Below is a well-rounded list of links for hikers, cyclists, runners, dog-walkers, equestrians and birders - a little somthing for everyone.
- Hill 88 - Hike/Bike Trail: Marin Headlands from Fort Cronkite/Rodeo Beach to the top of Hill-88 - Spectacular Views.  Â
- Tennessee Valley: Mill Valley to the Pacific Ocean. Offers wide partially paved trails with one fairly large hill to climb -Round Trip 3.4 Miles.
- Coastal Trail - Matt Davis Trailhead: Panoramic Highway with dramatic ocean views and miles of open coastal hills.
- China Camp State Park: Wide easy paths for beginning bikers, and for seasoned mountain bikers. This park has one the few single-trails open to cyclists.
- Las Gallinas Valley Sanitary District: Flat gravel trails form a 2.1 mile loop, a great place any time of the year.
- Indian Valley Open Space Preserve: Access is from Indian Valley Road or College of Marin's Indian Valley Campus.
- Mt. Burdell Open Space Preserve: Spectacular vistas of North Bay ridges from the 1558 foot peak of Mt. Burdell
- Cross Marin Trail - Sir Francis Drake Blvd.: Samuel P. Taylor park, traffic-free, level path surrounded by nature.
- Bear Valley Trail: Point Reyes National Seashore near Olema - wide, flat and sheltered trails.
- Agate Beach Trailhead: Bolinas Gulf of the Farrallones National Marin Sanctuary - protects 33 marine mammal species including 20% of California's breeding harbor seals.
