Marin Country Mart Farmer’s Market; The Perfect Saturday Activity

What's the perfect way to spend a Saturday morning in Marin? Head over to the Marin Country Mart Farmers Market! This weekly event is a must for food lovers of all kinds. The country-style shopping center has been hosting this event for many years, and it features all sorts of delicious food as well as locally grown produce to take home with you! Whether you are looking to treat yourself to a delicious breakfast, stock up on local produce for the week, or grab fresh flowers to brighten up your house, this is the perfect place to wander and enjoy the beautiful views of the Larkspur Landing.

While there are some amazing local entrepreneurs with everything from ceramic creation to homemade preservatives, I must be honest, I usually go primarily for the food. Saturday morning breakfasts are a bit of a tradition in my household and indulging at the farmers market is one of our favorites. Here are our Top 3 favorites you should try:

  1. Ethel’s Bagels – I always love an everything bagel with smear and lox. If you’re in the mood for a breakfast bagel, the Tribeca is a must. This is a popular stand with every bagel is made to order, so be prepared to wait 5-10 minutes. The freshness is worth it!

  1. Rustic Bakery – You can’t go wrong with anything here, in my opinion. Their sunflower seed sourdough loaf has become a staple in my diet. For a sweet treat, the croissant is one of my absolute favorites in America (...it’s hard a beet a fresh croissant in France!) The kouign amann is also a top order when I’m in the mood for something a little sweeter. Be sure to head inside the store front for an iced oat milk latte – it's my favorite latte of the entire mart.

  1. Roadside Rotisserie – While the chicken is great and I enjoyed the ribs, it’s all about the sides for me. The brussels sprout and potatoes had tons of flavor and were the star of the show for me!

And if that’s not enough, there are plenty more stalls and permanent food spots in the mall (like my favorite doughnut spot - Johnny Doughnut). Once you’ve had enough to eat, be sure to take a stroll through mall for some very cute boutiques. In the mornings there is children's music to keep the kids entertained (you can also check out the turtle pond), and all-ages music at 11 am.

Look no further for the perfect leisurely and delicious Saturday morning plans. Whether you go for the food, stay for the great atmosphere, or enjoy a little shopping, it’s always a great place to just enjoy being outside with friends and family. With plenty of fresh produce and delicious treats, you’ll be able to stock up on everything you need for the week. If you see me there this Saturday, feel free to stop me and say hi! I’d love to chat.
