The 9th Annual Eat Real Festival is back in Oakland’s picaresque Jack London Square on the waterfront the weekend of September 19-21.Eat Real is more than a festival, it’s a celebration of food, wine and brew with a focus on sustainable local ingredients.

Featuring over 70 vendors, price of admission is FREE and most vendors charge under 8$ for a nice helping of food.

I attended last year and was astounded by all of the fabulous food vendors, food crafters, street food and short classes available to learn more about food preparation and ingredients.Last year I took the charcuterie class and learned the differences between a variety of types with a tasting of 6 different salamis, that also included a glass of locally brewed beer!

Eat Real is Oakland’s biggest food festival; expect to see unique food trucks, local wines and brewery beers, demonstrations by local chefs and food artisans, a variety of classes and live music!

What a perfect way to top off the summer!See you there!
