East Bay Eichler Market Update - Walnut Creek


Centrally located in Contra Costa County, Walnut Creek is connected to the rest of the Bay Area by BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit), I-680 which travels north to south, and Highway 24 which heads west to Oakland and San Francisco, making commuting simple and convenient. 

Built in the 1950s, Rancho San Miguel in Walnut Creek, CA was the first Eichler development in San Francisco's East Bay Area.  With more than 375 Eichler homes, Rancho San Miguel is the largest Eichler community in the East Bay. An adjacent shopping center anchored by Fresh and Easy Neighborhood Market, the 33-mile long Iron Horse Regional Trail, and the 100-acre Heather Farm Park, keeps everyday life in Rancho San Miguel uncomplicated.  Downtown Walnut Creek, a short distance away, is filled with upscale shops and restaurants including the soon to open Neiman Marcus.  

Nine Eichler homes were sold in Walnut Creek during 2011. The average selling price was $544,167 and the average days on market were 119 days.  The lowest sales price was for a bank-owned home which sold for $351,000 and the highest sale price was $765,000.
