Can A Grocery Store Affect Your Home's Value? Whole Foods vs. Trader Joe's

We all have our favorite grocery stores. And what does this have to do with home values? Well, the stats are in. A Realty Trac study on zip codes with homes with Whole Food's and Trader Joe's report the following:

Homes near a Trader Joe’s have seen an average 40 percent increase in home value since they purchased. This is 6 percent more than the appreciation for near a Whole Foods.  Keep in mind, that higher home values will also increase property taxes.
