Marin "Open Studios" Coming the First 2 Weekends in May.

 

Once a year, artists all over Marin throw open their homes and studios so visitors can meet the artists and - with luck - purchase those unique "can't-live-without-it" pieces.  You can make your own self-guided tour based on artists' works or areas that interest you most by going to the website http://marinopenstudios.org/. 

WEEKEND 1: May 2 & 3, 2015 - Artist studios open in South and Central Marin*: Sausalito, Tiburon, Belvedere, Mill Valley, Corte Madera, Larkspur, Greenbrae, Kentfield, Ross and central San Rafael (Downtown to Pt. San Pedro)

WEEKEND 2: May 9 & 10, 2015 - Artist studios open in West and North Marin*: Stinson Beach, Bolinas, Olema, Inverness, Pt. Reyes, Marshall, San Geronimo, Woodacre, Fairfax, San Anselmo, northern San Rafael (Santa Venetia to Terra Linda), and Novato.

Artists may choose to hold Open Studios on their designated weekend only, or during both weekends.  Over 250 Marin artists participated last year in this annual two-weekend festival. 

Save the date and enjoy this special opportunity to get a glimpse into the lives of local artists and their creative process.  Whether you love plein air landscapes, metal works, ceramics, sculpture, or multi-media, this is your one chance to learn about local talent and gain insights into their process and learn what inspires these gifted and creative people. And maybe even find an extraordinary, once-in-a-lifetime treasure.
