201 Spring Grove in San Rafael - Just Sold!

 paint_liv3_448

I'm pleased to announce the sale of my Frank Lloyd Wright Inspired listing at 201 Spring Grove in San Rafael's West End Neighborhood.  Renee Adelmann, owner of Marin Modern Real Estate, represented the buyer. This beautiful Work of Art garnered 3 offers and closed escrow this week for $955,000.

Designed by an associate of Frank Lloyd Wright, this simple but elegant, mid-century, 3 bedroom, 2 bath home was constructed from Mahogany inside and out and situated on a beautiful 1/3 acre lot in a Zen-like setting.  The finished home is a tribute to the genius of Frank Lloyd Wright and to Harry Winters, the remarkable man who built it.  Harry was the founder and long-time president of the West End Neighborhood Association and worked tirelessly to preserve the beauty and character of the neighborhood.

Harry and Cecelia Winters raised six children, each two years apart, while building their Frank Lloyd Wright home. According to the children, their friends thought they had the most unusual home.  It is filled with wonderful memories.  As hard as it was to sell this unique and special home, the Winters' children are delighted the house will once again be filled with the laughter of children and that a young family will be creating their own memories.

I just want to say how much we all appreciated working with Janis. She was so helpful, never pressuring and always in our corner. Her down to-earth-approach and willingness to help us in any way possible was wonderful. It is always somewhat stressful to sell a house, and in our case a beloved home, but Janis smoothed the waters to make it all happen in the best possible way. Thanks to all the lovely neighbors that stopped in to talk to us and even help out on occasion. Mom and Dad would have been glad about how things were handled. Blessings to the new owners and best wishes great happiness in your new home.
