The coffee shops, restaurants, independent small shops, and trendy boutiques located along Courtland Avenue give Bernal Heights a comfortable bohemian air; while gardens and parks, including the recently renovated Holly Park and Precita Park, offer playgrounds, and picnic/play areas to neighborhood families. With services and recreation so readily available, there is little need to leave the neighborhood, but easy access to both I-280 and Highway 101 make commuting convenient for residents.
