In the early 1900s, Agua Caliente, Boyes Hot Springs, and Fetters Hot Springs were popular tourist destinations that catered to wealthy visitors who came to The Springs to enjoy the curative powers of the hot mineral waters.  Today visitors, as well as residents, still enjoy a little R&R in the mineral waters of local spas after an afternoon of wine tasting in Sonoma's famed wineries.  Residents can also make the waters a part of everyday life: the Sonoma Aquatic Club (AKA Agua Caliente Springs Aquatic) is a full service club that features swimming pools filled with natural mineral waters, as well as a large variety of swim programs, therapeutic swimming, and a workout room filled with weights and equipment.

Homes in Agua Caliente represent a variety of real estate options from homes located on the hillsides surrounding the Sonoma Valley to condos, comfortable single-family homes, or fixers located in Agua Caliente, Boyes Hot Springs, and El Verano.  Another viable housing option for house hunters who have a sense of adventure is purchasing undeveloped property and building their own home, whether it is an extravagant vineyard villa, a ranch-style home, or a modern pre-fab.

Agua Caliente Homes for Sale

Officially labeled Fetters Hot Springs-Agua Caliente on the map, the Agua Caliente community in Sonoma County is a small, census designated place that’s positioned right along State Route 12, only about two and a half miles from the beautiful city of Sonoma, California. Somewhat recent population statistics have just over 4,100 people living within its borders, but when you combine Agua Caliente with Boyes Hot Springs, which lies immediacy south and seamlessly blends right in with  its neighbor to the north, it’s a place that actually lives much larger than it looks like on the surface. As you might expect, State Road 12, or Sonoma Highway as the locals know it, is generally where you’ll find most of Agua Caliente’s small businesses and the few shopping and dining spots in town, and if you branch out just a couple blocks west, you’ll find the local preschool, Larson Park, and a few other community amenities.

Agua Caliente Real Estate

The housing landscape around Agua Caliente is pretty typical for a rural community in Sonoma County, California. Small bungalows, hillside cottages, older farmhouses, and even a few newly built homes sprinkled in between are all common when browsing the Agua Caliente real estate market, and in case you’re wondering about price, home values are also fairly consistent with much of the surrounding NoCal region. For the most part, look for older single-family homes that could use a little updating to start somewhere close to $500,000, while houses that have already been refreshed or remodeled generally bump up to the mid-$700,000s and go up from there. Newer homes for sale in Agua Caliente will of course jump into the million dollar price range, or if you’re looking to build your dream home from the ground up, don’t be surprised to find a number of land/lot options available on the market as well.
