Being a realtor is the best career I know. It melds my interest in architecture and design, I started drawing house plans when I was nine, with my great enjoyment in working with and helping people to buy or sell their home. I love the variety and challenge as every property, buyer or seller and deal is different and the sense of accomplishment when a deal closes successfully with all parties satisfied is immense. I’ve learned that listening to my clients is paramount and that, along with perseverance, attention to detail and a good working relationship with other agents can bring each transaction to a successful close. I am always available for any questions or concerns and place the greatest import on the trust my clients have in me.

Q&A with Yvonne Berg, Marin County Realtor

How long have you called Marin County home?

25 years. My first home in Marin was on Washington Street in Santa Venetia and for the last 20 years I’ve resided in Terra Linda and never want to leave.

How long have you been a Realtor in Marin County and what (real estate related) accomplishments are you most proud of?

I’ve been a Realtor in Marin County for 10 years. I got my real estate license in one of the worst real estate downturns that the country has known. Many people insisted that I shouldn’t go into real estate then and that I wouldn’t survive it but I did and I have. I’m very happy to have made it through the tough years.  I learned a lot and continue to love the work and the people I meet.

Sell us.  Why Marin County?

I grew up in Davis, lived in various parts of Sonoma County and raised my child there. I lived as far south as San Francisco, and as far north as Mendocino. Each place had its charms but Marin has everything I love and appreciate; the natural beauty of our mountains and the ocean nearby, charming small towns, each so unique, the city so close with its museums, shows and great food, and all the lovely and varied neighborhoods…I love it here.

Give it up.  Where is your favorite secret (or not so secret) destination in Marin County?

The libraries throughout the county are a real treasure for me. I frequent the two in San Rafael the most but I also love to spend time in some of the other town’s gems for their unique atmospheres. My other favorite destination is Image for Success on Fourth Street for the best shopping therapy I know.

Complete this sentence: In my free time....

I love taking my dog for walks up on the ridge above Terra Linda where you can see all the way across the bay or to Muir Beach and then a stop for pub lunch at the Pelican Inn after.

Recent Client Testimonials for Yvonne Berg

I cannot speak highly enough of Yvonne’s work ethic.

I am writing to give my highest regard to Yvonne Berg for the services she provided us in buying our home in Petaluma.

I cannot speak highly enough of Yvonne’s work ethic. She kept her eye on all new listings hitting the market, stayed in close contact with us, and was always available to show us homes both during the week and the weekend. All paperwork was handled very quickly and she was always in close contact with the seller’s representative when we made offers. Not only did she go above and beyond for months until we finally were able to close on a home, she was always in great spirits and continued to be a positive presence at all times. We still own our home in Petaluma, but if we ever do sell, we will without a doubt be using Yvonne as our listing agent.

You can't do better than her for your real estate needs.

I have used Yvonne Berg twice for real estate transactions. The first one was a very challenging short sale purchase in Sonoma two years ago. I was out of the country at the time and Yvonne was just terrific in all ways. Her attention to detail, reliability and willingness to get it done was what saved the day.  When it was time to sell that property I hired Yvonne as my listing agent and that was also an excellent experience.

You can't do better than her for your real estate needs. She gives 100% and everyone has a pleasant time even when the process goes through its natural ups and downs. Yvonne has integrity, intelligence and cares for her clients. She has terrific listening skills and a lot of experience so I would not hesitate to use her again anytime. I have referred many of my friends to her. I wish I had found her years ago. It would have made life easier.

Your time and talent are appreciated!

Thank you so much for your guidance, patience, knowledge, humor and persistence in helping with our new home. We would’ve been lost without you!!

You made a potentially frustrating experience seem “normal” and added an element of humor which helped a lot! Your time and talent are appreciated!
