My earlier career as a business owner and entrepreneur required me to learn and practice the skills I needed to run a successful company. Negotiation, marketing, promotion, research, perseverance, and the ability to listen to all points of view are among the important abilities that I have nurtured and am happy to be able to use to help my clients achieve their goals. I enjoy working with both buyers and sellers to help them realize their plans and dreams.
Q&A with Frederick Anlyan, Marin County Realtor & Broker Associate
How long have you called Marin County home?
I have enjoyed the privilege of living in Marin County since 1988, when my wife and I moved to Mill Valley from the Boston area.
How long have you been a Realtor in Marin County and what (real estate related) accomplishments are you most proud of?
I began working as a Realtor in Marin in 2002 and passed the exam for my Broker’s License in 2005. There have been many gratifying accomplishments in this journey, but it always makes me feel happy when I’m able to assist clients with home purchases or sales that they felt might be difficult or out of reach for them at the time.
Sell us. Why Marin County?
Marin County is a unique and special place. With its beautiful landscape, great schools, fabulous restaurants, generous amounts of public open space, proximity to San Francisco, The Bay, and the Pacific Ocean, moderate climate (just ask anyone who moved here from Chicago or Boston!), and many other amenities, it stands out as one of the premier places in the US or even the world, to live.
Give it up. Where is your favorite secret (or not so secret) destination in Marin County?
I love to drive to Stinson Beach, especially on a really hot day. I go via the Panoramic Highway, and skip the traffic on Shoreline Highway. Sometimes I stop and hike on the trails near the Mountain Home Inn, but usually I proceed on down the hill to the beach to take a good long walk by the water and watch the other beach-goers enjoying their recreational pursuits.
Complete this sentence: In my free time....
In my free time I attend dance classes in West Coast Swing, Foxtrot, Tango, Waltz, Quickstep, as well as a number of “Latin” dances like Cha Cha and Rumba. I also take guitar lessons at Blue Bear School of Music in San Francisco, and enjoy the study and practice of vegetarian cooking.

Successful Search for Just the Right Home!
We just completed the purchase of our first California property & could not have done it without Fred Anlyan @ Marin Modern! Fred worked patiently with my husband & me for close to a year while we searched for the right property. He came to each showing with all the information we would need to consider about the properties. He encouraged us to keep looking when we weren't sure we would find what we wanted at the right price. When we did make a decision, he was invaluable in guiding us through a complex transaction. Thank you Fred!
Fred worked tirelessly to help find me the perfect property
Fred Anlyan worked as my real estate agent when I purchased a condominium this year. I cannot speak highly enough of him. Fred worked tirelessly to help find me the perfect property and took me to view many homes so that I, as a new buyer, could learn what was type of homes were available and realistic prices. I was able secure a very desirable property and close early due in large part to Fred's diligence. Fred went above what I expected from a real estate agent, meeting with inspectors and repair people for me when I was unavailable and always responded to my email and phone messages promptly. Buying property can be a stressful experience, and Fred patiently explained the new laws regarding real estate loans and other issues involved with a home purchase in today's market to alleviate my concerns. I recommend Fred without hesitation to anyone looking to buy a home.
Fred Anlyan made it possible for us to buy a house that met all our criteria in an extraordinarily competitive market with record low levels of inventory.
Fred's primary goal was making sure that we found a house that we truly loved and that we did not settle for something that we would later regret. While the search process took longer than we expected, Fred remained positive and used his extensive network of contacts to identify leads. When attending open houses with Fred, it was immediately clear that he is well respected in the real estate community. He followed through on every step of the buying process and made it much less stressful than it could have been. Fred was always looking out for our best interests. We give Fred our highest possible recommendation and could not have been happier with the outcome of our search.
Thank you for your patience, perseverance, and skill.
