Many sellers believe spring is the best time to put their homes on the market because buyer demand traditionally increases at that time of year. What they don’t realize is if every homeowner believes the same thing, then that’s when ...Read More
Who knew that raising five children would be so helpful for my real estate clients? I have been able to share so much with families about Marin: elementary and high schools, shopping, Little League, dance studios, Girl Scouts, bicycle and hiking trails, safe beaches, picnic areas and so much more. And who doesn’t appreciate having my collection of the names of great day care facilities, gardeners, handypeople, plumbers, etc… I am a just wealth of resources and it would be my pleasure to share them with you.
Over the years, companies such as Lucas Film and Autodesk have asked me to help families from England, France, Canada and cities across the USA find new homes, good schools and generally introduce them to Marin. What fun it has been to get to know these people, provide many resources and help them locate just the right home.
How long have you called Marin County home?
When we started our family we moved to Novato from the San Francisco Peninsula to purchase a home with a backyard, great weather, schools, outdoor activities and affordability. It has turned out to offer so much more!
How long have you been a Realtor in Marin County and what (real estate related) accomplishments are you most proud of?
For the past 15 years, once my children were grown, I became a full-time residential real estate agent – a profession I have been involved in for over 30 years.
People are so busy these days it makes me happy to provide that needed help for buyers and sellers. I make sure clients understand the mountains of paperwork and the complete process. I also arrange for almost everything from cleaning, painting and packing to even babysitting. I am with you every step of the way.
Sell us. Why Marin County?
Marin is perfect – especially Novato – a town where summer comes early and stays late. It is a seemingly small town that is larger than most people think and it is usually the most affordable city in Marin.
Old Town, the eclectic main street, is filled with wonderful shops, antique stores and restaurants and there are no parking meters. And for major shopping there is Vintage Oaks which has Target, COSTCO and Old Navy to name a few of the larger retailers.
Neighborhoods vary such as rural Black Point and Indian Valley or the more traditional San Marin. Schools are excellent as are the many outdoor amenities: hiking and biking trails, horseback riding, tennis courts and many city parks.
When you are looking for a new home consider adding Novato to your list – it is a true treasure!
Give it up. Where is your favorite secret (or not so secret) destination in Marin County?
When I need a mini-vacation – just a few hours to renew, I head to Point Reyes Station. My usual stops are the Bovine Bakery for a coffee and pastry, Point Reyes Books to browse, Cowgirl Creamery for some yummy cheese to take home and then a visit to the Coyuchi loft – an incredible find for organic linens.
Complete this sentence: In my free time....
There is nothing I enjoy more with my free time than spending it with my family – children and grandchildren. Baseball games, volunteering at their schools, making cookies and sleep-overs – you can’t beat it.
I have worked with her on three separate real estate transactions in the last 10 years. If I had another property to buy or sell, I'd call her in an instant. I recently completed the sale of a house at Hamilton. I think it was on the market for about 10 days. Other properties in the neighborhood have been for sale for months.
She is very pragmatic and will give you excellent advice to the extent that she can. She will tell you when there are boundaries that she cannot ethically cross. She will keep you grounded in reality. She is extremely thorough and always seemed to be one step ahead of me. During my last sale there were a couple of instances where I had some specific concerns regarding disclosures. When I brought them up with Kathleen she had already dealt with them. She is my "realtor for life"!
She is one of the most genuine people I have ever met. When we moved to the USA Kathleen went above and beyond to help us locate and purchase our new home. She spent many hours driving my family around Marin so that we could narrow down areas that fitted our criteria. I recommend her highly and will definitely call on her expertise in any future real estate endeavors.
We met Kathleen only a while ago, but quickly became amazed at how friendly and kind she is! She is a true professional, but at the same time she feels like a long-time friend because she shows that she cares for you and your family. She is very responsive and very organized, she knows and loves Marin County by heart. She will go above and beyond to help you find/sell a place. We met her through a colleague, and although she didn't have to, she spared her time to look for a house for our family before we move to Marin. I definitely recommend her anyone looking for a house to buy/sell/rent in the Marin County!
