Motivated by passion for architecture and design, much of my life has revolved around real estate in one way or another. My formative years were spent previewing homes on the weekends with my parents after moving to the United States from Vienna, Austria. The dreams they envisioned of what they could build in the U.S. fueled my own interest in homes, design, and creative possibility. As a realtor I find true joy in continuing this tradition of envisioning possibility and nothing is more rewarding than being able to successfully assist my clients with their real estate needs. From facilitating the purchase of a dream home, growing a real estate investment portfolio, or marketing and selling a home for top dollar. Navigating these complex and hyper competitive markets is something I’m proud to do with success.

Q&A with Ary S. Assadi, Bay Area Realtor

How long have you called the Bay Area home?

I’ve been a Bay Area resident for almost 30 years now. After attending UC Berkeley I remained in the East Bay for most of my post college years, after which I spent about 8 years in San Francisco. I’m now a proud resident of San Rafael and can’t think of a better place than Marin County to call my home.

How long have you been a Realtor in the Bay Area and what (real estate related) accomplishments are you most proud of?

I’ve been involved in many facets of the real estate industry over the past 15+ years. From working as an appraiser, to helping the build-out of small family projects and managing rental & investment properties, my passion has always revolved around real estate and in particular, architectural design. What motivates me each day as a realtor is being able to facilitate transactions that essentially change people’s lives forever. From finding the right house for a first time buyer to achieving a new sales record for my sellers.

Sell us.  Why Marin County?

With hands down the best weather in the Bay Area, surrounded by some of the most pristine nature, and excellent schools, how does it get any better. To be able to both live and work in Marin County is something I’m thankful for every day.

Give it up.  Where is your favorite secret (or not so secret) destination in Marin County?

One of the main reasons I love Marin County is because of the beautiful and extensive coastline. I try to make it out there as often as possible for day hikes and the occasional overnight stay at the Steep Ravine State Park. The drive back home will always include a pit stop for a pint at The Pelican Inn, a staple of mine since my early high school days.

Complete this sentence: In my free time....

If I’m not mountain biking my neighborhood China Camp trails, I’ll be looking forward to the ski season and brooding over my next SCUBA diving trip. But most of the time you’ll find me hiking the numerous Marin County trails with my fiancée.

Recent Client Testimonials for Ary Assadi

Ary was amazing to work with, and we have nothing but great things to say about him.

Ary was amazing to work with, and we have nothing but great things to say about him. As first time home buyers, we were a little bit clueless. Ary was extremely patient, knowledgeable, and took the time to clearly explain the whole process. Also, Ary was always very responsive to all our emails/phone calls/texts. It was clear to us, through working with him, that he is very knowledgeable about the Bay Area real estate market and we felt like his expertise played a huge role in us finding our home.

I would highly recommend working with Ary if you're looking to buy or sell a property!

Ary went above and beyond to help us sell our condo at a time when there weren't as many buyers (between Thanksgiving and Christmas). He did a great job setting up a staging company, photography of the unit, working with the building management and he put together a fantastic marketing video! He  was really proactive in getting the listing out on social media and to his peers and their clients. From helping us decide on a timeline of when to list, have open houses, accept offers, etc. to negotiating offers he was on top of it! I would highly recommend working with Ary if you're looking to buy or sell a property!

For those of you looking to buy, ANYWHERE in the area, Ary should be your first call. He is a gentleman and a complete professional.

First Time US Homebuyer (With trust issues.) Picture it, May, 2016, I was almost ready to give up on finding my new abode, when I met Ary Assadi. From the moment I wandered randomly, and without an appointment, into his office, he was accessible, compassionate, transparent, honest (yes, they are different) and made me feel as if I was his only client. Ary is leaps and bounds past the other three Agents/Agencies, I had worked with earlier in the year, (hence the trust issues and wanting to give up.) However, the nag of paying astronomical rent, when I could be instead paying astronomical mortgage payments for my dream home, drove me nuts. Ary understood, and while I had some crazy sense of urgency, Ary took ample time and slowed me down until I could pick the right one. And, it was, and this will sound cliché, home at first site. The place that he showed me was EVERYTHING I wanted and more. It is not only an investment property, but suitable for a young male professional aspiring to host wicked parties sure to be the talk of the town. The budget was not blown, in fact, left me ample room to customize and individualize. Icing = There were significant issues with the builder, NONE of which I needed to handle, Ary and his confidents took care of it all, which was truly a battle. As a busy professional, I had no time to deal with this, and because of Ary et al., I didn’t have to. It’s been over a month since closing escrow and Ary still checks in once in a while to make sure I am still truly happy. For those of you looking to buy, ANYWHERE in the area, Ary should be your first call. He is a gentleman and a complete professional. Trust this guy with trust issues, you will not regret it. Thank You Ary!

We would definitely use him again and would recommend him to any of our friends looking to buy a home.

Ary was fantastic! As first time home buyers, we had no idea what to expect in the process. He always took the time to explain everything to us and keep us informed. We never felt like we were being pushed or rushed, but we still felt like we always received his honest opinion. With his expertise,  our first offer was accepted and we felt extremely lucky to have his advice in the tumultuous Bay Area market. We would definitely use him again and would recommend him to any of our friends looking to buy a home.

Ary is the best!

Ary is the best! He is very personable and easy to work with. He is very thorough and pays attention to details. He really appreciated the value of our home, which was a unique piece of architecture. He dis a great job marketing with fabulous photos and giving broad exposure. He kept us  informed every step of the way. He nearly always was personally present at showings, as we requested. We would definitely highly recommend.

Ary is a gem, he gets things done, and leaves you with nothing but pleasant experience.

Ary first reached out to me after I signed up on his company’s email list, little did I know it would be the beginning of a 5-month remote hunt for an investment property we weren't even seriously planning. Maybe it’s a West Coast thing, Ary is a little different from the realtors I’ve worked with in the past. He is patient, prompt, responsive, and persistent without a hint of pushiness. My husband is based in NYC, and I was on assignment in Asia the entire time we were working with Ary, he managed everything seamlessly. We made five offers on countless listings we liked before finally accepted to a lovely studio in Downtown. There was never a time where we felt any pressure from Ary - let’s be honest, we weren't exactly dream clients with unlimited budget nor did we know SF well enough; the time difference alone would throw people off not to mention he was always expected to report in full detail on the properties because we weren't able to see for ourselves. Ary is a gem, he gets things done, and leaves you with nothing but pleasant experience. I highly recommend him to anyone who is looking to buy/sell in the Bay Area.

I would work with him again in a heartbeat.

Ary is an example of what every realtor should be. He's quick & responsive, generous with information and advice, resourceful, very knowledgeable about the search areas, and just a joy to work with. He's a lovely, friendly, and very patient person who is also a diligent negotiator. He's a great guy to have on your side in this current crazy real estate market.

Since the purchase he helped me with was actually for my Mom, you can bet he earned this recommendation! I would work with him again in a heartbeat.

We highly recommend Ary!

My husband and I worked with Ary on a 1031 Exchange, selling a condo in Williamsburg and purchasing a same value condo in San Francisco. It was challenging in many ways: First the complexity of the 1031 exchange process itself, second finding the right San Francisco property within a very short timeframe in an extremely competitive market, then securing a loan and finally completing the purchase electronically both within and outside the US (my husband was abroad). Ary was on all fronts, on top of everything, very meticulous, advising us and guiding us at every step of the process, way beyond his normal agent duties. My husband and I fully relied on him, his professionalism and creativity in solving problems. We successfully completed the exchange in a record one month period, just in time for me to fly back with a new property title in hand. Needless to say, we highly recommend Ary!
